Hello all. I found S.M.A.R.T Habits Saturday The Lazy Organizer last Saturday for the first time. I love this idea because I need to start some good habits. I was going to be up by 7 a.m. and get myself ready and the started before my kids woke up. Well I got up before all my boys 6 out of 7 days. I was up at 7:30 a.m. but only because I let my baby girl be my alarm clock. I still fed her and got her and I ready for the day and had some devotional time before the boys got up. So it wasn't a complete wash out.
I really need to stick to a schedule. I feel like so much of my day is waisted. I'm a master at writing them up but starting them and sticking to them is a whole other story. My main excuse to let myself off is that its because my husband works shift hours. He works 12 hour shifts but make it 14 with his commute and getting ready. These last 6 months its been 6 am-8pm. But he only has to do that 15 days out of the month. I always try to start a schedule when he is home which never works because we want to play, go the beach, or the zoo. He now is back to this same schedule just at night time. He is living at 6pm and arriving home 7:30 am and only 15 days a month. I know I could accomplish all that needs to be done if I just schedule it out and do my best to follow. I open to any and all suggestions.
This week I'm going to get up at 7 am and greet my hubby and schedule the first half of my day and so my best to stick to it. I'm also suppose to close and move into our house sometime this coming week.
Lord, please give me the peace and patience needed during this week of still living around boxes and waiting for all the paper work to go through so we can move. I know its in Your hands and it will all work out in your timing. Please help to establish new habits that I may honor you with the way I spend my time. In Jesus Name Amen.

Moving and starting new habits.

I have about a week or so to go before we close on our first house. I'm making progress but still have lots to do. I'm also getting ready to start up baseball with the 2 oldest boys, our homeschool park group starts meeting weekly in 2 weeks and a possible joining a Homeschool co-op that will meet once a week too. I will also have to unpack, keep up with meals, cleaning, laundry, and start school work, and of course I want to decorate. I feel my plate is quite full but I'm also feeling very happy and excited about what this new year has in store. September has always been the start of my new year not January even when I wasn't schooling kids. I have a huge To Do List and a ton of new habbits I would like to start so my days would run smoother. But I know to start with baby steps. My goal for this week is to get up at the same time each morning before any of the kids do. I'm not a morning person but I'm going to aim for 7 a.m. Get dressed, have devotions, and have something other than cold cereal for breakfast. (Try to cut back to having cold cereal twice a week it just doesn't fill them up but they do love it.) I let you know next Saturday how I did.
